Synopsis

Set in the roaring 1920s, 'Chicago' follows the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and aspiring vaudevillian who murders her lover after he threatens to leave her. Sent to jail, she meets Velma Kelly, a famous nightclub performer who is also accused of murder. With the help of their cunning lawyer, Billy Flynn, both women vie for the spotlight and public sympathy in a media frenzy that turns criminals into celebrities. As their rivalry intensifies, the musical explores themes of corruption, fame, and the pursuit of the American Dream, all set against a backdrop of jazz, razzle-dazzle, and dark humor.
