Follies

Synopsis

Set in a crumbling Broadway theater about to be demolished, 'Follies' centers on a reunion of former performers from the Weismann Follies, a fictional Ziegfeld-style revue. As the guests reminisce about their past glories, the story focuses on two couples, Sally and Buddy, and Phyllis and Ben, whose lives have been shaped by their relationships and choices. The evening unfolds with a mix of nostalgia, regret, and confrontation as the characters confront their younger selves, their dreams, and the realities of their lives. The show blends past and present, with ghostly figures of their younger selves haunting the stage, culminating in a surreal and emotional 'Loveland' sequence that lays bare their inner turmoil.
