Synopsis
Set in the 1890s, 'Hello, Dolly!' follows the story of Dolly Gallagher Levi, a widowed matchmaker and socialite in New York City. Dolly is hired by the wealthy but grumpy Horace Vandergelder to find him a suitable wife. However, Dolly has plans of her own and schemes to marry Horace herself. Along the way, she meddles in the romantic lives of others, including Horace's employees Cornelius Hackl and Barnaby Tucker, as well as milliner Irene Molloy and her assistant Minnie Fay. Through a series of comedic misunderstandings and heartfelt moments, Dolly orchestrates events to bring everyone together, while also rediscovering her own zest for life and love. The musical culminates in a grand celebration at the Harmonia Gardens Restaurant, where Dolly triumphantly reclaims her place in society and wins Horace's heart. Filled with memorable songs, lively dances, and a heartwarming message about embracing life and love, 'Hello, Dolly!' remains a timeless classic of the musical theatre canon.
