Synopsis

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street tells the dark and twisted tale of Benjamin Barker, a barber who returns to London after being wrongfully imprisoned for 15 years. Under the alias Sweeney Todd, he seeks revenge on Judge Turpin, the man responsible for his incarceration and the destruction of his family. Todd sets up a barber shop above Mrs. Lovett's pie shop, where he begins a murderous spree, slitting the throats of his customers and disposing of their bodies by baking them into meat pies. As Todd's thirst for vengeance grows, so does the body count, culminating in a shocking and tragic conclusion. The musical explores themes of justice, revenge, and the corrupting power of obsession, set against the grim backdrop of Victorian London.
