Synopsis

Set in Austria during the late 1930s, 'The Sound of Music' follows Maria, a spirited young postulant who struggles to conform to the rules of the abbey. She is sent to be the governess for the seven children of Captain Georg von Trapp, a widowed naval officer. Maria brings music and joy back into the lives of the von Trapp family, eventually falling in love with the Captain. As the threat of Nazi occupation looms, the family faces difficult decisions about loyalty, freedom, and survival. Ultimately, they embark on a daring escape over the mountains to Switzerland, leaving their beloved homeland behind.
